Princeton lost to Colgate friday night, 5-4. The Tigers played the
first period looking like they had not played together for 3 months.
Their passing was sloppy, they had few quality shots on goal, and
Soph goalie Rod Yorke looked shaky. The Tigers found themselves down
4-0 after one.

In the second period, things turned around. Frosh James Konte, who replaced
Yorke late in the first period, look solid in goal. The Tigers outscored
Colgate 4-1 in the period to end trailing 5-4 after two. The second period
ended with several penalties after a Colgate player took a shot on goal
after the buzzer to end the period had sounded. This precipated a lot
of pushing and shoving, with both coaches coming on the ice to break things
up. The Colgate player (Flahy?) got a 10 minute misconduct for shooting
after the buzzer, and a pair of roughing penalties were given to both teams.

Princeton could not get a fifth goal in the third, as both teams went
scoreless. The Tigers had several chances to score, including a couple
of solid tries while shorthanded, but could not score. With 45 seconds
left in the game, and the puck in the Colgate end, Coach Cahoon pulled
Konte to try to get a man advantage. Unfortunately, as Konte neared the
bench, the puck came down along the boards into the Princeton end. Konte
stopped the puck instead of letting it go by him, and Princeton was whistled
for too many men on the ice.
