U of Minnesota Gophers at U of Minnesota, Duluth Bulldogs

DECC (Duluth) Friday, January 22, 1992 7:05 pm

Final Score: UMD 8 MN 4

Sellout crowd at the DECC.

34 penalties

The game took 2hrs and 52min!

Power Plays
             UMD (5 for 10)
             MN (3 for 10)
     Plante (4 assists)

Plante:
Injured late in the 3rd period in front of the Gopher net while
being checked by Brian Bonin and Justin McHugh. He injured
his left knee and is supposed to be back in 2-4 weeks.

Goaltending:
     Jerome Butler UMD (29 saves)
     Jeff Callinan (35 shots)

"It's leaking somewhere out there"-Doug Woog (Duluth News & Trib)

One of the highlights of the game for me (a UMD fan) was when Brett Hauer
made a spectacular short handed goal when his team was on a 3 on 5!
Hauer also had 2 PP assists.

Two game misconducts in the game in the 3rd period. Both on Minnesota.
(Craig Johnson & Joe Dzeidzic).

I thought it was a good game to watch, but there were way to many penalties
to get the game flowing smoothly.

Several fans brought brooms on Friday night and even started the SWEEP
chant. The DAWG POUND was very loud and the gophers were definately
feeling what it is like to be in the DOG HOUSE (remember, we only
have one loss at home this year and it was in OT).

Well thats about all I can think of on the game, sorry this is late.

Cheers, eh,
