I was just reading hockeyeastonline.com today to get a handle on the
dates of the March tournament, and came upon this tidbit:

Hockey East quarterfinal action in 2006 will again be a best-of three
format with the four highest seeds hosting series at their respective
campus sites.  As the regular season champion, the No. 1 seed will host
No. 8, No. 2 will host No. 7, No. 3 will host No. 6, and No. 4 will host
No. 5.
 
I take this to mean that only the top eight teams will participate in
the tournament, and the ninth and tenth finishers in the regular season
get to play golf.  In other words, there is no preliminary round or
Final Five nonsense.  Is that correct?
