Correction on my last post.

Apparently, Akron is bigger than I once thought. Just substitute another
small-school D-I program that you know of. My apologies to any Akron fans on
the list and to all Hockey-Lers for my error.

You really can't define large/small schools, in regards to its athletic program,
by enrollment. Notre Dame's enrollment is barely 10,000, smaller than five of
the 10 teams in the North Central Conference, a D-2 conference which includes
North Dakota, St. Cloud State, Mankato State and Nebraska-Omaha among it's
hockey-playing schools, along with two-time D-2 football champs Northern
Colorado, all of which have larger enrollments than Notre Dame.
