In case there isn't anyone from Colgate on the list, the following
is from an article appearing in this morning's Schenectady Gazette
(from an AP report)

SLATER SUFFERS STROKE

College hockey coach Terry Slater's condition worsened Monday, a
day after he suffered a stroke, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Slater, the NCAA's hockey coach of the year in 1990, was listed
in serious condition at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital early
Monday, but doctors downgraded his condition after "a bad episode"
Monday afternoon, said spokeswoman Bonita Voiland.

Voiland could not comment further on Slater's condition, saying
his family had requested that no further details be released.

Doctors determined Slater has a blood clot on the left side of
the brain that has left him partially paralyzed on the right side
and affected his speeech, said Colgate SID Robert Cornell.

"We're in a holding pattern for the next 24 to 48 hours
until the doctors can determine what to do about the clot," Cornell
said.

Slater had complained of pain in his ear while Colgate was in Ohio
this weekend for a two-game series at Kent State, said Cornell.
Colgate trainer Charlie Cady checked out Slater and noticed his
blood pressure was high, he said.
After returning to Hamilton Sunday night, Slater's wife, a nurse,
took him to a local hospital. He was transferred to Crouse-Irving
around 11 pm, he said.

Most of the rest of the article describes Slater's career at Colgate.
Assistant coach Brian Durocher has been named interim head coach
according to Cornell.
