Plattsburgh State 10, Brockport State 0
Potsdam State 4, Canisius 3 (OT)
     St. Bonaventure 9, SUNY-Binghamton 8

Notes on a few of the games:

Oswego State 9, SUNY-Binghamton 4
Seven Oswego power-play goals sent the Colonials reeling to their
fourth straight defeat. Binghamton actually had a 1-0 lead 6:58 into
the game, when Mike Maiorella stuffed home a Mark Silvaggio rebound.
But Oswego, which was ranked second in the SUNY Athletic Conference
preseason poll and won the SUNYAC tournament and an NCAA bid last year,
scored twice in the first and took control of the game in the second
period. Four of Oswego's five goals in the second were on the power
play as they outshot the Colonials by a 26-7 margin. Mike Catuosco's
hat trick led the Lakers, while Gregg Pechmann added two goals and a
pair of assists. Jeff Randazzo made 35 saves for Binghamton, while Rob
Moore and Bill Snyder each had 11 for Oswego.

St. Bonaventure 9, SUNY-Binghamton 8
Last year, Binghamton broke their 58-game losing streak by defeating
the Bonnies, and it looked to be more of the same when Binghamton built
up a 6-2 lead early in the second period. But St. Bonaventure closed
the gap with three straight goals and took their first lead of the game
(8-7) at 10:51 of the third period. Binghamton's Exposito tied the
score at the 16:41 mark, but the Bonnies' Cielieska got the game-winner
with 1:13 left. Jeff Randazzo wound up with 49 saves on the night,
while St. Bonaventure's Demers stopped 27 shots.

Geneseo 8, Hobart 4
Geneseo's Marc Miller led the way with two goals and two assists, while
     Ryan Hallam had 38 saves.

Elmira 9, Oswego State 2
A six-goal explosion in the third period helped Elmira deal Oswego
State their first loss of the season. The high-scoring Lakers had
totalled 48 goals in their first five games, and they got on the board
at 8:56 of the first period thanks to Gregg Pechmann. Elmira's Bob
Holmes tied the score just over a minute later, six seconds into a
power play. The Soaring Eagles were able to kill off a 1:44 5-on-3
power play later in the first period, but Oswego's Matt Dickson gave
his team the lead at 10:25 of the second. That would be all for the
Lakers, however, as Greg Moore tied the score just 33 seconds later.
Tom Moses gave Elmira a 3-2 lead at the 12:59 mark, and in the third,
the Eagles really turned it on.

For some reason, Oswego State goaltender Rob Moore left the game after
the second period. Eric Purcell went between the pipes for the Lakers
in the third and was picked apart. Joe Caswell got the first of his
three goals at the 4:38 mark, and the Eagles broke the game open with
three goals in 36 seconds later in the period. Joe Spinelli, regarded
as one of the best Division III players in the country, made his case
with a pair of goals 14 seconds apart (at 8:40 and 8:54), and Matt Weir
potted his first tally of the season to put the Eagles up 7-2. Two
late goals by Caswell rounded out the scoring. Tom O'Brien made 22
saves for Elmira, while Moore stopped 29 shots for Oswego, and Purcell
stopped 7. The Eagles held Oswego to an 0-for-9 performance on the
     power play.
