Well, while it seems parity *may* have been achieved in the rest
of Hockey East, it appears Merrimack may be the exception this year.
Despite a pretty good freshman class (it seemed) and a good start against
non-league competition, the improvements have once again failed to
translate into league play. Now that Northeastern has the horses to play
with Maine, and BU is again asserting its place (first) and UNH, Mass
Lowell, and Providence are competitive with each other, it seems that if
the Mack gets a league win this year it will have to be against Boston
College.
I wasn't afforded the pleasure of seeing this game, but I heard
some of the call from guru Mike M. on WCCM over the phone. Sounds like
the bombing included both freshman goalies, Legault and Thibeault, and
three of the four goals were scored in the third period, by freshmen Tom
Johnson, Darryl Krauss, and Claudio Peca. Nice to see they didn't hang
'em up early- the third period has been the worst for the Mack so far.

I'm sure Mike will post details at some point, so I'll wait with
baited breath for the autopsy.
