BU QUOTES
Head Coach Jack Parker: "We had to work hard for every shot. I think we
put pressure on them in the zone, but not in front of the goaltender.
They did a good job keeping us to the perimeter.
I think we were legless coming off of the long layover. We were going
pretty well on adrenalin until the third goal, but then after that it
started to catch up with us.
I think the fact that we had such a good season was unexpected. We knew
coming in that our freshmen would help us out, but we didn't know how
well and how hard our upperclassmen would contribute - that was the
surprise."
Forward David Sacco: "They are a big strong team, big defensively. They
were clutching, grabbing and holding a lot. We worked well down low
sometimes, but sometimes we didn't.
We have a young team, n one expected us to come this far and we have a
solid nucleus coming back. We're excited about next year."
Senior D Tom Dion: "We played a solid game. I think the layover hurt us
more mentally than physically. Scrimmaging just isn't the same."
MSU QUOTES
Head Coach Ron Mason: "I think the two teams were evenly matched, then we
got the momentum in the third period where it counts. It was a tough
battle. We had a difficult time finding our legs out there and I think
the ice played a big factor in that, but I thought we persevered and did
the right things at the right time."
On Dwayne Norris - "A great effort by Dwayne when he broke around the
defenseman to score the third goal, but I've seen a lot of those this
year from him.
We started to stand around in the second period when they gained the
momentum from us and we made some adjustments in our lines and went
with three different combinations in the third period."
Forward Dwayne Norris: On the goal - "I don't know what he [goalie] was
thinking at that point. I was more worried about cutting off the
defenseman than getting a shot on net. I thought maybe he should have
poke-checked me or stacked the pads.
We showed some real character and poise and we stuck to our game plan
and played some disciplined hockey in the third period."
