December 7, 2001
Start Time: 7:39 p.m.
STARTING 4 minutes late owing, I believe, to a defective goal
light at the north end. The goal judge was given a white
towel to wave. (in surrender?????)
End Time: 10:02 p.m.

I believe that is tickets sold rather than bodies in seats.

Shots on Goal by Period Saves by Period (with Minutes Played)
SCSU 9- 8-10 - 27 Dean Weasler (SCSU) 18- 4-14 -- 36 (60:00)
CC 18- 4-14 - 36 Jeff Sanger (CC) 9- 7- 8 -- 24 (58:59)
CC seemed not to shoot during the second. Maybe thats because
they were intimidated by the lack of a red light, or masy
that's because they were shooting at the far end and these old
eyes aren't what they used to be.
Head Referee: Jon Campion Assistant Referees: Gary Pedigo, Tim Swiader
interesting that the assistant referees are both from denver
and one of the assistant referees at denver was from colorado
springs. I guess there is extra travel money this year.
Scoring Penalties Time
FIRST PERIOD
P1-SCSU, Jon Cullen (2-holding)...........................1:08
P2-CC, Chris Hartsburg (2-boarding).......................6:52
P3-SCSU, Mike Walsh (2-tripping).........................12:17
P4-SCSU, Jeff Finger (2-slashing)........................18:12
SECOND PERIOD
G1-SCSU, MARK HARTIGAN 13 (Nate DiCasmirro 16, Matt Hendricks 8)..........5:27
a blistering shot that sanger got 99 and 44/100ths of, but it
still trickled into the net behind him
P5-SCSU, Mark Hartigan (2-holding)........................9:18
hartigan appeard to voice a whole lot of displeasure at this
call. I'm guessing he stopped just short of questioning the
ancestry of the referee.
There was a face off sometime during this period where first
the husky cullen got tossed and then one of the CC cullens got
tossed. I know it is a penalty if the official has to toss two
people from the same team, but apparently there is no
infraction when two members of the same family get tossed
THIRD PERIOD
G2-SCSU, MATT HENDRICKS 13 (Mark Hartigan 15, Nate DiCasmirro 16).........7:00
hendricks was left unchecked at the (my) right side, and
Sanger didn't have a chance.
P6-SCSU, Matt Gens (2-hooking)............................9:30
CC, Sanger out at................................................18:06
P7-CC, Mark Cullen (2-hooking)...........................18:34
cullen appeard to voice a whole lot of displeasure at this
call. I'm guessing he stopped just short of questioning the
ancestry of the referee. The same can be said of several other
cc players. The game announcer, however, apparently did
question the referees ancestry, and was tossed from the
announcers box. We are speculating whether that ejection was
merely a game misconduct or a game disqualification requiring
him to not announce tomorrow's game. Time will tell.
CC, Sanger in at.................................................18:34
CC Sanger out at.................................................18:54
G3-SCSU, MATT HENDRICKS 14 (Mark Hartigan 16, Ryan LaMere 2).....PPG, EN.19:27

Sometimes the best team doesn't win. Tonight at CC was not one
of those times
