UMD also has two freshman defenseman that have played regular shifts and
performed very well thus far. Matt Taus is an all-stater from Elk
River, MN, and Bert Gilling is from Manitoba. Taus has been paired with
senior Greg Hanson, and has three assists in four games. Gilling is
paired with sophomore Laird Lidster, and has picked up one assist.
Another freshman, Curtis Bois, who played junior hockey in the USHL at
Thunder Bay, notched a goal in UMD's second game against Ferris St.
