Next week is a quiet weekend of CCHA play with only 4 games on tap. No use
playing too many games while the students are home eating Turkey, I guess.

CCHA PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Norm Krumpschmid, a senior center from Ferris State
University, has been selected CCHA Player of the Week for the week ending
November 23, 1991.

Krumpschmid, a 5-11, 190 forward from Sudbury, Ontario, had a six-point weekend
as the Bulldogs took three of four points at Ohio State. He had a power play
goal in Friday's 5-2 Ferris State win. In Saturday's 5-5 overtime tie, he had
two goals and three assists. The Buckeyes led 5-2 midway through the second
period before Krumpschmid scored his first of the game, then he assisted on
John Gruden's tally. His power play marker at 12:11 of the third period
proved to be the game-tying goal.

Krumpschmid, a former St. Thomas Star player, was a June 1990 supplemental
draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks. This was the first time since the 1982-83
season that Ferris State came away with three points from a series in
Columbus.

Two youngest NCAA teams in CCHA: According to research completed by the
National Hockey League, Michigan State and Michigan have the youngest squads
in NCAA Division I hockey this season. The average Spartan age is 19.6, while
the Wolverine average is 19.8. Bowling Green is the only other CCHA team in
the top ten (T-10th) with an average age of 20.2.

Brown stands tall in split with Spartans: Western Michigan sophomore
goaltender Craig Brown stopped 67 of 73 Michigan State shots this weekend for
a .918 saves percentage. He had 16 saves in the third period each night.

Ferris State takes three of four points at Ohio State: The Ferris State
Bulldogs came away with three points from a weekend series in Columbus. It
marked the first time since the 1982-83 season (7-6, 3-3 OT) that FSU had not
lost at Ohio State.

UIC power play clicks in Ann Arbor: The Flames were 3-for-46 (.065) with the
man-advantage in their first six games. This past weekend at Michigan, UIC
went 3-for-9 (.333) on the power play. Saturday's tie (3-3 OT) at Yost Arena
snapped Michigan's 10 game winning streak against the Flames.

Bronco attendance surpasses 100 percent of capacity: Western Michigan has
averaged 4038 for its three home league games. WMU's Lawson Arena has a
capacity of 4,000. Miami and Michigan State are both averaging over capacity.
