Olympic coach Dave Pederson was at Friday night's Gopher game, scouting
players for both the 1991 Olympic Festival in L.A. and the 1992 Winter Olympic
team. Pederson said that the list of invitees to the Olympic Fest will be
announced around the time of the NCAA final four.

The NCAA Championship game March 30th at the St Paul CIvic Center will be
carried live by ESPN-TV again this year. Last year's game was carrried on a
tape-delay basis a week later. The 1989 game between Minnesota and Harvard was
the first championship televised nationally by ESPN. I have only one beef
about this, the price for letting a local station get a "feed" from ESPN is
astronomical and really puts the student-fans at a disadvantage. It forces
people to go to a place where there is cable-TV to be able to see this game.
When the final four was here in 1989 our local Gopher hockey TV station
(channel 29) tried to get a feed from ESPN with no luck, so people in greater
Minnesota did not even have a chance to see the game as cable-TV is not
 completely statewide yet.
