University of Maine's Paul Kariya will return for classes in the
fall. Kariya announced his decision Friday.
 
Stressing the importance of education, Kariya said it would be
"foolish" not to return to Maine for at least one more semester.
He said getting another semester under his belt would put him in
a better position to earn his degree. Kariya is listed in the
1992-93 media guide as a major in business administration.
 
Kariya said he will spend the fall semester with the Black Bears
and then join the Canadian olympic team. He didn't rule out the
possibility of turning pro after the Olympics.
