A member of the Maine NCAA champions is also
on their NCAA tournament baseball team. I'm
sorry, I don't remember the player's name, but
I'm sure one of the Bear-of-color faithful will jump
in.

I wonder how many athletes have ever been
members of multiple national champions in the
same year. I know that many of the Cornell
hockey players of the late 60's were also on the
lacrosse team (which was quite good), but I don't
think the hockey titles (67, 70) coincided with the
lax crowns (mid 70s, I think).

There were probably many such achievements
back in The Early Days, when the sports were not
as specialized and a truly outstanding athlete
(Hobey Baker, Jim Thorpe) excelled at all of
them. Perhaps a similar situation persists to this
day in womens' sports, but I don't know.
