Mike Zak has gone skiing for the day and asked me to write up last nights
game. Here is the rundown :

      -------------------------
                  1 2 3 T

      Clarkson 1 2 2 5
      Boston Univ 0 0 3 3

      -------------------------

Shots on goal : Clarkson : Total of 21
                Boston : Total of 40

SUMMARY

The game started out with BU skating well in the first. Clarkson scored
first on its first shorthanded goal of the year. With BU on a power play Hugo
Belanger intercepted a pass at center ice and passed to Dave Trombley.
Trombley got in alone and scored. Time of the goal was 17:10 of the first pe

period. BU actually skated better than Clarkson but due to Chris Rogles
incredible goaltending they were not able to score. Clarkson was out shot in
the period 12 to 7.

In the second Clarkson took control and scored twice while Rogles again
shut down BU offence. Clarkson skated much better in the second and really s
se
seemed to be gaining control. Clarkson's second goal of the night was scored
by Mark Green at 6:04. Mike Kozak passed to Slyvain LaPointe who shoved it
in the crease and Green redirected it into the net. At 9:37 of the second,
Mike Cassleman scored on a backhand wrist shot which beat Caseman to the short
 side
side. I don't know who got the assists on that goal. Sorry.

In the third, Clarkson scored first when Jeff Torrey took a pass from Craig
Conroy and beat Caseman. That goal came at 1:22 of the third and made the score
4 - 0 Clarkson. BU proved why they are ranked 6th in the country however, when
they mounted and incredible third period attack on the Knights. At 2:45 of the
period McKetchrin (sp?) scored on a wrap-around goal with assists going to
Armonte and Pachuck. This seemed to take Rogles invincibility away as the

Terriers scored again at 4:48 with McKetchrin again doing the damage for BU.
The assists were the same. At the 9:21 mark the Terriers appeared to have
scored their third goal but it was called out. The ref had apparently blown a
 quick w a
quick whistle when Rogles covered up in the crease. Pachuck was upset so he
started pushing Rogles in the back and then all hell broke loose. Mark Green
skated in to protect his goaltender and the Terriers skated in to protect
Pachuck. In the end Clarkson was given two minors and BU only one. It didn't m
matter in the end because no one scored. For the game Clarkson was 0 for 2 on
the power play and BU was 0 for 6.
At 14:35 BU again scored, this time by LaChance from Armonte and Mcketchrin
Clarkson lost the face-off in their own zone and thought they had won only
leaving Dave Tretowitz back to defend. 3 on 1 BU put it home, sliding the puck
just on the inside of the post.
Clarkson now called a time out as it was 4-3. This had a good effect bec
because Clarkson came out of the "shell" it had been playing in and started
forechecking again. BU pulled Cashman at the 19:00 mark and 14 seconds later
Scott Thomas scored the empty netter. With about 20 seconds left, BU was
put on the power play but couldn't generate anything.

The game was well played by Clarkson except for a 10 minute span in the
third when BU got the momentum back. Rogles made a big step in becoming the
#1 netminder with outstanding play for the entire game.

Other ECAC scores I have heard since last night.

       Brown 4
      Harvard 2

      Princeton 7
      Cornell 6

Yale beat Dartmouth but I don't know the score.

Clarkson plays BC tonight in another non-ECAC game. Clarkson's out of league
mark is 6-1.

     One more score:

     St. Lawrence 0
     Boston College 5
