Congratulations to the Engineers as they became the second team to beat Vermont
at Vermont. The Engineers have come through again at the end of the season to
beat Clarkson, St. Lawrence, and now, Vermont to make it into the quarterfinals.

RPI came out to a 3-0 lead at the end of the 2nd period, then extended their
lead early in the 3rd with a goal thanks to Vermont. RPI couldn't touch up
on a delayed penalty and Vermont's goalie Soucy was pulled. A poor pass bounced
off a Vermont player and rolled into the Vermont net. Engineer Cam Cuthbert was
awarded his first points of the year by being the last RPI player to touch the
puck before the goal. Vermont pulled to within three again, but this was not
enough to even come close to the sound play of the Engineers.

The Engineers move on to the only team that has literally crushed them this
year - Harvard, with their 5-2 win against Vermont. And with Harvard's loss
to Clarkson (which RPI beat recently), the Engineers can come into a playoff
game knowing that Harvard can be beat. If the Engineers make it through any
playoff games, they'll be taking the long road, coming from the #10 spot,
upsetting #7 Vermont and hopefully, this weekend, #1 Harvard.
