Epilogue: Dan Olsen

With three weeks left in the season, the ECAC race for the lead is one of the
most exciting in recent memory. Four teams are in a log jam for the lead in
the ECAC with just six league games left to play. As was noted in many
previous notes, almost all of the matchups between the four teams at the top
have been played. Clarkson is 4-1 in these matchups and will win a head to
head tiebreaker against any one of these teams (I haven't gone far enough in
the stats, but I believe this is regardless of the Cornell game). So as
frustrating as it has been for all of us Clarkson fans watching the team lose
to Yale, Union, Harvard, and Colgate, the big games were wins (all except a 2-1
loss to Vermont to mirror their 2-1 victory) and it's paying off in the long run
.

Clarkson will not face one of the top four teams in the next two weeks, which
could prove to be a dangerous lull in the schedule. However, the Knights have
plenty of reasons to get up for the games (as if the ECAC race isn't enough).
The Knights can show the Princeton Tigers' true colors and gain revenge for an
early loss to the Bulldogs of Yale this weekend. Clarkson also has the chance
to even their record vs. Harvard and to finish off last place Brown next
weekend.

I'm sure that most of you are sick of reading about Clarkson by now, but my
reason for all of this is a request for discussion. Do you think that Clarkson
will be hurt by not playing the "Top 4" in the next two weekends? Do you think
they'll come up flat at Lynah on February 28.
