it is the closest venue in which either team could play.  Lake Placid is MUCH

The trip from Colgate to LP is on the order of five hours, no matter what
way you go.  Cornell is an hour and 15 minutes from Hamilton, so I would
guess the trip from there would be about six hours.  The basic fact remains
that  Lake Placid is a really nice place to visit for a few days, and I have
really looked forward to going there the last two years.  From a practicality
point of view, someplace further south does a better job of equallizing the
driving distances, and may be less expensive, but must we always be practical?
