1) Steve Feinleib mentioned the pushing offside...previous to the
new rule, there was nothing in the book that allowed an official to
ignore offside if the player was pushed. Offside was offside.

2) Shootouts...to me there are three chief areas of the game in
hockey, defined by the three positions - offense, defense, and
goaltending. Sometimes they can overlap (and do with successful
teams). A shootout brings it down to 2 of those 3 to decide the
game - why should defense be left out?

I understand the argument that games may be decided in regulation now,
but I just don't agree with it...there is as much reason to think that
teams will hang on if it's close and they're the underdog to get to
the shootout when anything can happen.

3) Montgomery cannot be drafted because he is over 20. Carl was close
to being right on this one - you have to be 18 to be drafted by the
NHL, and you cannot be 20 or older (North Americans). There used to
be a supplemental draft for undrafted North American college players
who were no longer eligible for the draft, but no more.
