   A few years back, a Maine player couldn't wrestle his stick back from
   an opponent, so he just grabbed, took and played with the opponent's
   stick.  They switched back at the next whistle, but ...
 
   I've usually seen Rule 6, Sec. 24 a. (interference) called.  In part,
   that section says, "A minor penalty shall be imposed on a player ...
   who prevents a player who drops the stick, helmet or any other piece
   of equipment from regaining possession of it ...".
 
   (Blush) In fact my son had such a penalty called on him in a high
   school game this year (for shooting a fallen stick down the ice) :-)
