Just a quick note to anybody out there who may be on the Minnesota Athletic
Department's mailing list:  you may want to save from the garbage that mailing
soliciting donations to the Williams Scholarship Fund.  It shows the redesigned
home hockey jersey in the inside back cover (right in the CENTER of the display
of jerseys, where it belongs :-) ).  The maroon block-M is back (replacing last
year's old-fashioned style jerseys to commerorate the opening of the new arena)
with gold and now black (I think) outline.  There is more elaborate gold
trimming on the shouler, arm, and bottom stripes and a broad maroon band across
the bottom of the jersey.  Also, the numbers on the arms have been moved up to
the maroon part that goes along the shoulders.  (Sorry, I know I'm a lousy
fashion correspondent...)
 
Anyway, it's not a jolting departure from the old block-M home jersey (worn
recently except for last year) or anything, but maybe it is a little slicker
looking.  I'm not generally completely resistant to change, so I'll withhold my
judgement until I see the players in it as to whether or not I think "slicker"
is better.
