Er.. much as it pains me, that should read:

COLORADO COLLEGE 6, Wisconsin 2

at least according to today's Milwaukee Sentinel. Obviously not a
typo. Erik must have been in shock after having to type in the
DU-UM score.

The box score:

Wisconsin 0 1 1 - 2
Colorado College 2 1 3 - 6

   First period
1. CC - Reid (9) (Venkus, Strunk) pp 14:52
2. CC - Fearns (6) (Strunk, Bethard) 17:40

   Second period
3. UW - Fairchild (7) (Shier) 9:52
4. CC - Jaraczweski (16) (Strunk) 15:09

   Third period
5. CC - Block (12) (Reid, Fearns) pp 3:35
6. CC - Strunk (23) (Hynnes, Fearns) pp 5:08
7. CC - Block (13) (Bruinnks, Duryea) 7:15
8. UW - Francisco (7) (Richter) 18:31

   Saves
Derkesen, UW 11 9 3 - 23
Michelizzi, UW -- -- 5 - 5
Casey, CC 9 7 14 - 30

The stories of the game:
* Wausau, WI native Steve Strunk's 4 pt. game for CC (1g, 3a)
* penalties - Ref Bob Ames called 21 on UW, 14 on CC
(CC was 3 for 10 on the power play)
* Derkesen pulled in the third for Michelizzi.

We don't get the games on radio here in Milwaukee :-( so I
don't know many details, only what I read in the paper. Was
Derkesen pulled because the game was out of reach or was he
having a rare "off" night?

What a Friday for the league. The bottom three teams beat
the top three ... Hmmm, looks like parity has arrived :-). I
guess I'm not *too* surprised at the NMU loss, given there recent
"slump" (?). But for the Gophers to lose _at home_ to DU...
I look forward to seeing a game summary posted by one (or more)
of the Gopher faithful.

BTW, this is my first posting to the list (though I've been
a silent participant for a while, now). I'm looking forward to
the NC** F*nal Four at the Bradley Center in '93. Maybe we can
have a hockey-l get-together at Major Goolsby's or Luke's.
