I don't have a college rule book handy.  NHL rules dictate that a penalty shot
be awarded automatically in the following situations: 1) defending player other
than goalie covers puck with hand in crease, 2) goalie throws stick at attackin
g player.  Penalty shots resulting from fouls on breakaway attackers are more d
iscretionary.  NHL rules also award goal to attacking team if stick or other eq
uip. is thrown at a player attacking an empty net.  Are the college rules simil
