Yale 0 2 1 3
AF 2 3 1 6

The first goal came when any veneri (with some hard work along the
boards) got the puck and centered to mark digeronimo camped at the
edge of the crease. The second was on a power play with defenseman
beau bilek scoring from the point.

Yale evened it up with a 4 on 4 and then a 5 on 4 a minute later on
defensive lapses by the falcons, but air force came back to pull back
ahead within a minute. The final 2 goals of the stanza came on a 5 on
3 and resultant 5 on 4 power play. In the third, air force opened it
up to 6-2 and yale narrowed the margin on a power play about midway
through.

Late, the game verged on getting out of control as yale let their
frustrations (from the whole season, i'd guess) get the better of
them, and things started getting a bit nasty. With 30 secondsleft, a
bulldog dropped his gloves and earned himself a major and game
disqualification.

linesman kirk schoech had his usual steady game. Tom goddard and
robin anderson did ok as referees. The unknown highlight goes to
robin who, in a fit of buzziness, forgot to bring his helmet. Falcon
assistant coach (and WCHA linesman) tim hartje loaned robin his helmet
for the series, so the order of the evening was some ribbing about
the brains belonging to the helmet, not the official.

the same two teams square off tomorrow night.
