The Penn State Icers improved their home-game winning streak to 22 on Saturday,
defeating the Michigan-Dearborn Wolves 8-4 in front of a rather sparse crowd
(everyone was watching some other Penn State sport, God knows why...). The
Icers struck twice early in the first, as Mark Konchar scored two goals just 15
seconds apart. The Wolves pulled to within one early in the second, but the
Icers answered three minutes later. Dearborn again made it close midway through
the period, but Penn State would score the final two goals of the second. The
Icers had another mini-feeding frenzy four minutes into the third, and led 6-2
at that point (oops, make that 7-2). The Wolves scored twice more in third,
and Konchar netted another one for Penn State, his fourth of the game, to make
the final 8-4. Dennis Magulick picked up his first win of the season, while
Mark Tapp took the loss for the Wolves. Penn State outshot Dearborn, 52-36.

ICER NOTES:

The Icers are now 3-0-0 on the season; Dearborn drops to 4-3-0....the Wolves
still lead the overall series against Penn State, 10-6, but the Icers have won
the last six...Friday night's victory gave head coach Joe Battista his 150th
career victory. Battista's overall record is now 151-46-10...the Icers will
be in action at the Ice Pavilion on Friday night, as they face their arch--
rivals, the fifth-ranked Ohio University Bobcats. This game completes the
Icers four-game homestand at the "Icerdome". The Icers will take to the
