The incident that occurred at Albany on Saturday night was not just an
incident--it was a representation of the wrong turn athletics has taken--and
we the fans must shoulder some of the blame.

These players are supposed to enjoy what they are doing--skating, passing,
shooting, etc. For those of you on the list, ask yourself why you like to
play hockey; is it because you like to play, or is it just a desire for a
trophy?

Let's face it, schools want to win because it brings in money. And people
want to be associated with a winner, and therefore they buy the tickets and
the merchandise--I'm as guitly of this as anyone.

So it's no doubt that players get upset--it's a perspective problem.

I saw most of the game on TV, and I don't think the penalty calls were bad.
I did think that the both teams got away with numerous offsides plays--or
the linesmen just did a poor job.

I wasn't impressed with Wisconsin's #7 and his vocabulary on national TV
while the players were arguing with the officials.

This game is out of control. For example often you see one player moving
with the puck and an opposing player who is trailing behind is poking him
with his stick. You say, "Dan, he's not hooking him, he's not doing anything
wrong." I say," But that's not what the stick is for; it's for moving the puck.
Period."

Am I getting through to anyone?
