i seem to remember potent wolverine teams of the early nineties
that lost leads in the third period to maine in the nc$$ tournament
because they couldn't play defense to protect their lead.

and those detroit tigers of the same period, beating up on teams 20-18
some nights. i seem to recall they ended up leading (or close to it)
the majors in runs scored but near the bottom of their division.

you may be able to infer, i'd take a defense first approach. i'd like
to have michigan's mix of defense with offense (like last year). but if
my defense is floundering around, the goalie's going to get beat (and
probably quite perturbed).
