Hi Gang,

I know this is a dead horse, but I still find it absolutely amazing that
some of these teams play only THREE non-conf games!! I know there are
distance factors, but they don't hold water for teams like Wisconsin and
NMU who are closer to some of the CCHA teams than to teams in their own
league. A similar, but not so ridiculous lack of NC games holds for the CCHA,
who could certainly cross over and play some of the western ECAC teams and the
eastern-most WCHA teams. I would like to eventually see the leagues go to
a max of 70% league games, this would still leave about 24 league games,
plenty. That would leave 10 for out of conference games.

This is one area where basketball, for all we rag on it, has it all over
hockey, UCLA plays ND, and it makes for great pre-season fare, and even a few
intermingled late in the season. With 10 teams, the WCHA could at least
cut to 3 per team, 27 league games, leaving 7 for NC. I think, in the
long run, this would lead to a lot more interest nationwide.

Wouldn't you just love to see a BU-Mich series early on in Nov?

IMHO, this would give much more validity to the RPI ... just my $0.03 worth.

RPI '64 - - - hoping it is just "wait til next year" but not feeling good
about that, either.
