From today's Gazette Telegraph:
 
CC said four players signed early letters of intent for the 1996-97 season -
goaltender Jason Cugnet of North Battleford, Saskatchewan; defenseman Dan
Peters of Cottage Grove, Minn.; and forwards Aaron Karpan of Regina,
Saskatchewan; and Cam Kryway of Calgary, Alberta.  Cugnet (6-1, 205 pounds)
has stopped more than 90 percent of the shots directed his way this season
while playing for the Royal City Outlaws of the British Columbia Junior Hockey
League.  He was a ninth-round draft choice of the Vancouver Canucks last
summer.  Peters (5-10, 170) plays for Omaha, the same U.S. Hockey League club
that sent current freshmen Brian Swanson, Scott Swanson, Darren Clark and
Brian Waldo to CC.  Karpan (6-0, 185) led the Saskatchewan Midget AAA League
in scoring last season with 32 goals and 48 assists in 48 games.  This year,
he's playing for Yorkton of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.  Kryway
(6-0, 180) joined Cugnet on the Kelowna club last season, scoring 31 goals
and assisting on 42 others in 60 games.  He's now playing for the Surrey
Eagles of the BCJHL.
