Michigan Tech Hockey Game Notes vs. Northern Michigan -- Friday, November
4, 1994

Michigan Tech enters play tonight with a 3-1-1 record overall and a 1-1-0
mark in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Sophomore goaltender Luciano Caravaggio (Etobicoke, Ont.) will get the
call in goal tonight. Caravaggio enters play this evening third in the
league in goals against average (2.76) and tied for first in saves
percentage (.911).

Sophomore forward Kyle Peterson (Thunder Bay, Ont.) will miss tonight's
game due to a groin pull. Peterson has gained at least one point in four of
MTU's five games (2-3--5) and is third on the team in points. Additionally,
Peterson scored a goal in each game last weekend.

Senior center Travis Seale (Mississauga, Ont.) will play in his 100th
career game here tonight. Seale is off to the best start in his career with
two goals and three assists, for five total points.

Senior left wing Brent Peterson (Thunder Bay, Ont.) is one of 53 players
all-time at MTU to score 100 or more points. Peterson, who in 124 career
games has 62-52--115, is currently tied with three others players for
40th-place on MTU's all-time career point chart.

Freshman Craig Perrett (Calgary, Alta.) returns to the lineup tonight
after missing last Saturday's game against Denver because of being
disqualified on Friday.

Two MTU freshmen continue to look for their first collegiate point
tonight, including left wing Jason Prokopetz (Esterhazy, Sask.) and
defenseman Travis VanTighem (Calgary, Alta.).

Senior right wing Randy Stevens (Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.) is in the
lineup for the second straight weekend. Looking for his first point of the
season tonight, Stevens was sidelined from Sept. 3 until last weekend due
to torn muscles in his shoulder and chest. Stevens suffered the injury
during fall testing.

Junior center Pat Mikesch (Hancock, Mich.) enters tonight's game with a
six-game point streak, dating back to the final game of the '93-94
campaign. Mikesch had 1-6--7 through five games a year ago, compared with
4-3--7 this season.

MTU will host Wisconsin next weekend here at the MacInnes Student Ice
Arena.

For the second straight year, Michigan Tech has two sets of brothers on
its team -- Jeff and Pat Mikesch (Hancock, Mich.) and Brent and Kyle
Peterson (Thunder Bay, Ont.).

Jim Storm and Randy McKay are both in attendance here tonight. Storm, now
with the Hartford Whalers, played for the Huskies from 1990-93, while
McKay, a member of the New Jersey Devils, played at MTU from 1984-88.

MTU student Bill Kriege will call the game for WZRK radio tonight. Bob
Olson, who last weekend was inducted into MTU's Sports Hall of Fame, is
with the football team in Detroit, Mich., and will call the action of the
MTU-Wayne State football game tomorrow afternoon in the Motor City. MTU
Sports Information Director Dave Fischer will handle play-by-play duties
for hockey tomorrow night.

Former MTU coach Newell Brown was recently suspended for five games and
fined $500 for abusing an official. Brown is in his third year as head
coach of the Adirondack Red Wings.

Northern Michigan will join MTU, Michigan, and Michigan State in the 1995
Great Lakes Invitational Tournament in Detroit, Mich.

MTU's volleyball team, ranked second in the nation, hosted Hillsdale
earlier tonight and will host Saginaw Valley State tomorrow afternoon at 1
p.m.

MTU is 3-11-3 in the month of November under coach Bob Mancini. Last year
the Huskies were 1-5-3 in the month, while in Mancini's first year, the
Huskies turned in a mark of 2-6-0 in November. As a college head coach,
