I saw a game on TV awhile back which used this type of puck. I found it more
distracting than anything else.  I think one of the problems new fans to the
game of hockey have is the desire to "follow the puck".  It doesn't really
matter what color they make the puck or how it glows, trying to follow the puck
moving at 80-100 mph is never going to be easy in person, much less on TV.  It
just takes time to get used to watching the flow of the players which in turn
leads to knowing where the puck is and where it's going (or should be going :).
As someone who's watch hockey on TV for over 30 years, I have no trouble with
the puck as it is now.
