Well I agree in theory but it would be difficult and time consuming
to change the rules.  Perhaps a system like 3 "points" for a goal
2 for a direct pass leading to a goal and 1 for a secondary pass.  But
the problems comes up of shortchanging those people who pile up the
assists, but don't score alot of goals.  Does this mean that offensively
they are inferior to the goal scorers?  In my opinion no, take them away
and someone is missing alot of feeds.....      Anyway, it would be
difficult to decide who gets a 2 point assist and who gets the one
point assists as well, and the box scores would be constaly chaning
through out the game as the officials review tapes to aware points.....
      still a good idea all the same....
