BTW, this was the last time Maine was shutout at home. The last time
Maine was shutout came on the road, 11/22/86 at Michigan State, 4-0.

This also broke a streak for Lowell - 216 games without shutting out
an opponent. That last time came on 12/3/87, 9-0 at home over
Northeastern. (I remember that game...ouch.) Info courtesy of Lowell
broadcaster Bob Ellis, who was having trouble containing himself on
the air today. It sounded like he was the only one making any noise
in the building.

Of course, that means this was also the first career shut out for
Lowell senior goalie Dwayne Roloson. In response to Steve Twombly's
post, while Roloson is regarded as one of the better goalies in HE,
best in the country might be pushing it. BU's Derek Herlofsky might
be the best in HE, and I would have trouble ranking Roloson above
RPI's Neil Little, Wisconsin's Jim Carey, or MTU's Jamie Ram, to name
just a few. But that is irrelevant, because Roloson is doing well and
Lowell is winning; the Chiefs have only surrendered 38 goals in 13
games, and 22 goals in 8 HE games.

On the message that Ryan said was put up on the Maine scoreboard
(anti-NC$$): from the times I have been up in Orono, it seemed that
students had been hired to run the message board. If so, it is more
understandable why the message appeared, but still they have a certain
responsibility while fulfilling their duties and it should not have
happened. It can only make things worse.

After splitting with UNH, beating NU Friday and beating Maine on the
road today, it isn't wrong to consider Lowell the 2nd best team in HE
right now, IMO.
