CORNELL ADDS TO LEAD WITH HOME SWEEP OF CLARKSON & SLU

With three league weekends to go, the ECAC Hockey races developed more
clearly with 12 games this past weekend. Big winners were Cornell, Harvard
and RPI, all of whom swept at home. Defensively, Cornell impressed with 4-2
and 3-1 wins over tough Clarkson and St. Lawrence respectively.
Offensively, Harvard broke up its Donato-Ciavaglia-Vukonich line and won
12-2 and 7-0 over Army and Princeton.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Andy Pritchard, St. Lawrence. The SR LW from Oakville,
ONT scored 5 goals in the Saint's 7-4 win at Colgate. Included in the effort
were two PPGs, a SHG, the GWG, and an ENG. He also added an assist.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: Geoff Finch, Brown. The FR G from Oshawa, ONT continues
to be a major story in the ECAC. He stopped 47 of 54 shots, extended Brown's
unbeaten string to 7 games Friday, and finally lost, 4-2 at RPI. He's 7-3-1
in ECAC play.

           -Honor Roll-
Ryan Hughes, Cornell: SO C had all 4 Cornell goals in 5-4 loss to BC.
Corrie D'Alessio, Cornell: SR G stopped 55 of 58 shots in two Big Red wins
over ECAC powers Clarkson and St. Lawrence.
Mike Vukonich, Harvard: SR LW had 5-2-7 weekend including hat trick against
    Army.
Ted Drury, Harvard: SO RW had 3-4-7 weekend including 5-point night against
    Army.
Joe Juneau, RPI: SR C had a 2-3-5 weekend in RPI's sweep.
Rob LaFerriere, Princeton: Fr LW had 2 goals in Tiger's 5-2 win at Dartmouth.
Craig Woodcroft, Colgate: SR RW had 6 assists on the weekend, 3 in each of the
    Red Raiders tough losses.
Ray Letourneau, Yale: SR G bounced back from giving up 6 first period goals
and being pulled at RPI on Friday to stop 47 of 50 shots in 3-3 OT tie
    at Vermont on Saturday.

NOTES: Colgate was swept at home for the first time since 1986, when it was
last done by the same teams as this weekend, Clarkson and St. Lawrence...
Odd second period in Harvard's 7-0 shutout of Princeton. The Tiger's
outshot the Crimson, 14-4, but were outscored 1-0... A week after the
RPI-SLU game sets a new ECAC penalty minute record of 196, Brown at RPI
tops it with 204. The old mark (130, Maine v. Providence) stood for 10
years...As expected, Cornell's team defense is starting to dominate. The
435 shots allowed by the Big Red is the fewest in the league.
