While I do agree with Charlie and Bill that officials should not be undermined,
I also think that if the rules are applied improperly by an official, then
the league should step in and correct the call.  I am not talking about a
judgment call, rather if an obvious mistake was made by an official in
applying the rules.  I was suggesting that this may have occurred in this
case which would support Colgate's case.  I don't know if it did, but it
would be in my opinion a valid reason to overturn Greyerbiehl's suspension.
I wouldn't see this as undermining the officials.
