Following is a preview of the 1994-95 Princeton Tiger team. What follows
are my own opinions; I don't speak for the team or the school.

The 1994-95 Princeton Tiger team will be a veteran squad, with 8 seniors
and 7 juniors. This year's team is the first year where all 4 classes were
recruited by 5th year coach Don Cahoon, there are no remaining players from
Jim Higgins' tenure. Cahoon (BU '72) is assisted by Len Quesnelle
(Princeton '88) and newcomer John Hamre (Minnesota '91).

The forwards are led by seniors Ethan Early, Mervin Kopeck, Corey Rhodes,
Hartmann Schoebel, and Ian Sharp. Sharp was the ECAC defensive forward
of the year in 93-94, largely due to his aggressive play on the penalty
kill unit. Junior forwards are Jonathan Kelly, Clint Murray, and
J.P. O'Connor. Soph forwards are Mike Bois, Keith O'Brien, Joey Pelle,
Tony Ranaldi, and Jean Verdon; the frosh are Matt Brush, Casson Masters,
Chris Patrick, and Robbie Sinclair. 6'5" Chris Patrick is the great-
grandson of Lester Patrick, whom the old NHL Patrick Divison is named
after. With all these experienced forwards, the Tigers need a "go-to" guy
to step forward. In my opinion, the Tigers have not had a real potent goal
scorer since Andre Faust, '92. Likely candidates are Sharp and O'Connor.
I don't know which of these (18) forwards will suit up, or who will be
on which lines.

The Defenseman are seniors Scott Almon, Gavin Colquhoun, and David Scowby.
Juniors are Dan Brown, Brent Flahr, Barrie Miller, and Jason Smith.
Soph Kevin Sheehan is joined by Frosh Martin Ouimet. The Defense should
be solid this year. A must for the Tigers is for 6'4" Jason Smith to
stay healthy. Smith missed a month at the start of last season due to
Mono, then suffered a mild ankle sprain in January.

Junior goalie James Konte appeared in every Princeton game last year.
He is a solid goalie who can be one of leagues' best, if he takes his
game to the next level. He will backed up by Soph Tom Best and Freshman
Erasmo Saltarelli.

Princeton hopes to improve on last year's 9th place finish in the ECAC.
Princeton lost 6 league games by one goal last season. After the "Big 4"
of Clarkson, Harvard, RPI, and Vermont, the ECAC should be wide open this
year. The Tigers should be part of the next group of 6, which includes
Brown, Colgate, Cornell, St. Lawrence, and Union. It should be a great
race for spots 5 through 10 in the ECAC. Also, don't rule out Yale and
Dartmouth making a run for the ECAC playoffs, both teams are well coached
and could surprise any of the above teams. '94-'95 looks to be another
exciting year in the ECAC.
