Two things mostly. Clarkson started their freshman goaltender (Christian
Marois. He was pulled at 10:54 of the second, with the score 3-1 Yale.
Dan Murphy allowed one goal on 18 shots the rest of the way. Yale's 5th
goal was into an empty net.

The other thing was that only Todd White and J-F Houle were really able to
put any sustained pressure on the Yale net. Yale succeeded in shutting down
the rest of Clarkson's offence.

Clarkson scored at 14:20 of the second to make the score 3-2. At this point
it looked like the Knights would come back and win. But Yale scored 26
seconds later and too the wind right out of the Knights' sails. Clarkson
seemed to sleepwalk through the next ten minutes or so.

I can't think of any big losses Clarkson has suffered in terms of players,
but they don't seem to be nearly as strong as last year.

A box score will be posted to Info-Hockey-L tomorrow sometime.

See you later,
John
