Consolation Game - Canisius Ice Griff Tourn.

Findlay 4 Brockport 2

UF picked up it's second win of the season, it's first varsity win, as
they defeated Brockport State 4-2 in the Consolation game of the
Canisius Tourn. Brockport, who almost upset host team Canisius Friday
night losing 2-1, took an early 1-0 lead. The Oiler's then came back and
scored a shorthanded and power play goal to take a 2-1 lead, but once
again, they surrendered a goal in the last minute of the 1st period
making the score 2-2. The Oiler's then played a sound defensive game
scoring a goal each period to win their first game against a varsity
opponent 4-2. Goal scorers for the Oilers were Dave Bell (Oak Lawn, IL),
Troy Martin (London, ONT), Matt Godar (Cincinnati, OH), and Steve
Barbarits (Minford, OH). Jim Brunner (Conneaut Lake, PA) made 37 saves
and played a strong game for the Olier's between the pipes.

Notes:
UF is now 2-3 overall. Their three losses were against Fredonia 2-1,
Niagara 6-1, and Cortland 5-4. Their two wins were against Kent State
11-4, and Brockport 4-2. Next for the Oilers is Eastern Michigan at home
