in case anyone missed it Union College announced this afternoon that Bruce
Delventhal resigned.  Anyone who follows Union knows what a spin job that is.
 Make know question about it, he was forced out and Union is not big enough
to stand up and admidt it.  Whatever your feeling may have been about
Delventhals coaching and demeanor(and there are many different ones) he
deserved better.  How can you can a guy when you are the same people who do
not give the program a chance.
 
1. No Scholarships(St. Lawrence, Clarkson, UVM, RPI)
2. No preferential aid(Colgate)
3. Not an Ivy
 
Seems to me that the deck was stacked.
 
With the current attitude and administration this program is in a downward
spriral and a new coach is not going to change that unless there are some
institutional changes.
 
On top of that they(the school) are not smart enough to give the job to a
real up and comer like current assistant Kevin Sneddon.
 
They are going to look for someone to come in tell them(the new coach) how it
is, not someone like Delventhal who probably raised a lot of embarassing
issues.
 
I'm throwing out my Dutchmans shoes.
