Oh, please don't throw me into that there briar patch, Br'er NCAA! Well, we
all know now that it didn't work out that way, but I would much rather have
the #3 East seeding than the #3 West. Providence worries me, and I can't
describe how unthrilled I am at the prospect of having to get past Michigan.
Given the Gophers propensity for defensive breakdowns late in the season, I
don't see how they plan to stop a team that turned Lake State around so much
last night. Lake State is a better team than we are, and deserves what I
think is the easier seeding, but I wouldn't have complained if it worked out
differently. After watching the Wolverines the past two nights, I think I
might have preferred the #4 East seed; BU has struggled a bit lately and I
can't picture them being any tougher than Michigan. also, flame away, but my
two impressions from the ECAC action I saw are that it is a lot of fun to
watch, and that I would rather play Clarkson or Cornell than Providence. The
two problems with the Don Lucia comments that provoked so much discussion are
that he was undiplomatic and unfairly included Hockey East. My impression is
that the top lines on a number of ECAC teams are a match for anyone, but
there is a serious drop-off after that. I look for Vermont to have a tough
time if they play Lake State; the Lakers are probably going to be as good at
shutting down the Perrin-St. Louis line as anyone.
