But are they sure those people are there to see hockey or just to get out of the
Arizona heat? :-)

John would probably be disappointed NOT to be corrected on this one, and I
wouldn't want that! :-) So...
From Pam's hockey file (I just have a hockey file; Carol has a hockey BOX...)
this list from Let's Play Hockey of WCHA average attendance figures for the
1992-93 season. I'll post the whole thing, even though it isn't all pertinent.
These numbers are from before Minnesota's new arena was built and before UAA was
a full member of the league:

   1. Wisconsin 8588 99.4% capacity
   2. Minnesota 7351 96.8%
   3. Alaska-Anchorage 6180 99.5%
   4. Minnesota-Duluth 5252 92.7%
   5. Denver 4505 96.0%
   6. North Dakota 4381 72.2%
   7. Northern Michigan 4205 98.1%
   8. St. Cloud State 3764 62.7%
   9. Michigan Tech 2946 92.1%
  10. Colorado College 2467 92.1%
So I guess Anchorage would have comparable attendance to Arizona's, also.
