Here's one more item from todays Pioneer Press (Charley Walters' column):
"Highest-paid college hockey coach in the country is Boston University's
Jackie Parker at $200,000 annually. The deal North Dakota gave Dean Blais to
keep him out of the Gophers' hunt is for $115,000 in base salary a season
for five years, plus a new car and a country club membership. The deal's
total value is $175,000 annually. Insiders say Blais also is getting
mortgages paid off on his home and a cabin. The Gophers were convinced weeks
ago Blais wouldn't seriously consider his alma mater.
People who know say the coaching job Blais ultimately wants is with the
Minnesota Wild."
