Garrison Keillor did his Prairie Home Companion show from the
SUNY Potsdam campus this week, and as I hoped, he did mention college
hockey, specifically the two Clarkson/SLU games each year. For those
of you planning to catch it on a re-broadcast today, it's early in the
second half, just before the discussion of the ice storm. (There's
also a bit about youth hockey in the Guy Noir sketch in the first
hour.)
Obligatory non-info content: there was a discussion a while
back about whether any other event could hold a candle to the Beanpot;
a tournament in the North Country involving Clarkson, St. Lawrence,
Cornell and RPI might come close in enthusiasm, if not in sheer
attendance. But of course a regular season ECAC travel partner series
in the North Country has a mini-tournament feel anyway, except that
you can only see two of the four games.
