Bob Petrie earned a shutout in his first collegiate start as Bowling
Green beats Ohio State 6-0. Sean Pronger led the BG attack with 2 goals
and an assist. Defenseman Jeff Wells also had 3 points.
The Buckeye offense could not generate any good chances until the third
period, but they were unable to beat Petrie. Tom Askey played reasonably
well between the pipes for OSU. But he did look bad on both of Pronger's
goals; he was caught out of position both times as he was unable to
decide if he should come out and go for the loose puck or stay in goal.
Ohio State was very physical, as the penalty minutes show. We shall see
if they can better use their muscle on their smaller ice surface Saturday
night in the re-match.
The win was Jerry York's 450th as a coach.
