I don't know when the UNH fish tradition began, but as a freshman in the fall
of 1988 I travelled to Conte Forum (BC) to see the Eagles play BU in one of
the first hockey games I had ever seen in my life.
Well, the terriers that year (ugh, don't remind me about 88-89) started a
goalie named Peter Fish, and the Eagle fans responded by flinging all kinds
of the water creatures as he was introduced in the lineup.
I have to admit, even as a rabid BU fan, I still laugh about that night and
give props to the Eagle fans for doing it. Hey, nobody got hurt, and after
all, these are COLLEGE teams; the fans should act like they're in college
(except for the drunk 40-year-olds)
