In an exciting game just concluded Maine hung on to defeat BU.
BU opened the scoring on the game's first shot as Blair Allison
looked shakey early, but he settled down after some helmet repair
and played a solid game. Surprise starter in goal for BU was Noble,
a freshman, who also looked good but wasn't enough to make up for
the players in fornt of him. The game was size and strength (BU)
against speed and quickness (Maine). Maine was able to force BU to
take penalties and capitalized three times. Maine also had a short-
handed goal. Leading 6 to 2 midway through the third period, the Bears
ran out of gas. Walsh used his time out, but BU kept pressure on the
rest of the way. Their last score was a PPG with 9 seconds left and
Noble on the bench. Too little, too late. Back again tomorrow
night!
