One correction from Mike's post regarding Matt Wright (BU).
This is actually his third ever college game since he also played (well...
got ice time in) the two games at the Auld Lang Syne. He was a red-shirt
last year and has seen little to no ice time this year.
He did score his first goal last night, and has improved over his three games.
(He looked extremely bad in the game vs. Vermont.)
One opinion I would like to add as to the severity of the fight at the end of
the game.
After the Lowell player ran Herlofsky (at end of game), Wright and Doug Wood
went berzerk at the player. Wood is known as having a short fuse as it is,
but Wright knows that this was his last game for quite some time. With the
four players returning from the Jr. Nationals, he will see the practice line
for a long time (barring many major injuries). After seeing his goalie run
like that, he probably figured that making the Lowell player pay was a possible
way to get the coaches attention for the future. At least the coach will
remember him if there is an opening in the future. Also, considering that he
is most likely not going to see anymore ice time this season, the DQ is pretty
meaningless.
Just the humble opinions of a crazed hockey fan...
