Just a follow-up on the Cincinnati comment. Since the forgettable frozen
four was held in Cincy in 1996 the Riverfront Coliseum was purchased by a
group led by the IHL Cincinnati Cyclones front office executives.
They poured something like $14 million into renovations. It is now the
full-time home of the IHL Cyclones. It actually is now a fully functional
hockey rink. It's pretty nice.
I would like to see the frozen four, or the regionals as a test, come back
to Cincy for another try. Of course I live fairly close so I am biased.
The new Value City arena in Columbus would be fine with me too. The new
home of the Ohio State hockey team is supposedly state-of-the-art in all
respects and will seat over !7,000 for hockey as I understand.
