This will be short 'cause I'm running late for a meeting. Michigan and OSU played here
at the Ohio Fairgrounds last night. For us OSU fans, it wasn't as bad a drubbing as we
expected might happen. I missed half the first period due to car trouble, but I was
told that, of the first two goals (UM), one was a 'good goal' and one was a mistake by
Aho---he gloved the puck, then didn't drop it far enough from the goal mouth and a UM
player pounced on it. Boisevert (sp?) got the OSU goal. I think the shots on goal tell
the story---50 for UM and 15 for OSU. Aho was playing well for the most part; OSU's
offense just couldn't control the puck in Michigan's end, even on power plays. The game
got a bit chippy at the end (surprise, surprise---Piatrowski was refing) and several
players from both teams were sent to the locker rooms early. They didn't announce all
of the penalties, but I don't think anyone will miss their next game. For those of you
who might possibly remember the game at the Fairgrounds 2 years ago(I think it was
against Western Michigan), Piatrowski learned a lesson and did -not- send two players
from opposing teams that were extremely angry with each other off the ice into the
-same- tunnel at the -same- time (-: If you want/need more specifics on the game,
e-mail me and I'll try to answer your questions.
