[ Description of "rowdy crowd" cheer deleted ]
This sounds similar to the "winning team, losing team" cheer at Bowdoin
done near the end of the game when the team is ahead:
(One person stands up, points, and says the line; then the rest of the
section stands up, points and repeats the line)
Is that not the Polar Bear?
YES, THAT IS THE POLAR BEAR.
Is that not Old Glory there?
YES, THAT IS OLD GLORY THERE.
[ others that tended to change from game to game ]
Is that not the winning team?
YES, THAT IS THE WINNING TEAM.
Is that not the looooosing team?
YES, THAT IS THE LOSING TEAM.
WINNING TEAM, LOSING TEAM, WINNING TEAM, LOSING TEAM ...
It always riled up the fans for the end of the game. A humous (IMHO)
anecdote was when Colby fans visiting Bowdoin's Dayton Arena did that
cheer with about 5 minutes left in the third and Colby up by 1. Bowdoin
came back to tie the game and then won it in overtime!
